Homestead Logging and Milling

Homestead Logging and Milling is owned and operated by Theo des Tombe, a lifelong Nevada County resident who has devoted his life to working in timber and fire. He began learning his trade in 1994 working alongside an old friend who owned a Woodmizer LT40. Theo is dedicated to helping clients convert their excess or, sometimes, their beloved trees into useful timber. He takes great care with his job sites, is very considerate of property and landscape, while leaving wood stacks that are like works of art in themselves. Theo has worked with many hundreds of property owners over the years both locally and in surrounding counties, making a lot of friends along the way. When not on location with his mill, you might find him working as a commercial logger, cutting trees on a fire line during fires, or better yet, hiking in an old-growth forest with his family.
